IN2FAB JOINS GLOBALFOUNDRIES FDX CELERATOR ™ PARTNER PROGRAM

Northampton, United Kingdom, October 2, 2018,
IN2FAB announced the opening of a new North American office to support and expand its existing business. The centre will operate in conjunction with the company's existing facilities in Europe to provide a base for expanded operations. Located in the New England semiconductor region, the new center will concentrate on providing technology that solves the complex problem of migrating semiconductor IP between foundries and processes.
IN2FAB Technology announced today that it has joined the GLOBALFOUNDRIES (“GF”) FDXcelerator™ Partner Program to enable IP transfer from outside processes to the 22nm FD-SOI platform. IN2FAB’s migration tools and services allow fabless companies and IP vendors to adapt their existing products to meet the requirements of GF’s 22FDX® technology and get to market in a fraction of the time required for a redesign.
IN2FAB has enhanced its OSIRIS design tools to produce a flow that transfers the schematic, test bench and layout data from bulk silicon processes to FD-SOI. The source circuits can come from other GF processes or from designs that were originally made by third-party foundries. The migration flow uses components from the GF process design kit (PDK) in both schematic and layout translation, ensuring the resulting database contains components and models that are completely foundry compliant.
Design migration allows existing IP databases that were built for other processes to be adjusted and adapted to meet the requirements of a new manufacturer. By maintaining the topology and hierarchy of the original circuit, engineers can concentrate on making adjustments to established data rather than starting again from scratch. This saves both time and money and opens up new opportunities for IP vendors to bring their products to a wider market.
Timothy Regan, IN2FAB’s president said: “we are very happy to extend our existing partnership with GF and work together on the 22FDX platform. The GF FD-SOI processes are ideal for many emerging markets as they allow designers to tune their products to take advantage of the excellent performance and power management capabilities it offers. Design migration is an ideal way for IP vendors and fabless companies to accelerate their move to 22FDX and we are looking forward to working with them to migrate their products to this exciting technology.”
IN2FAB extends partnership with Tokyo Nanofarm

Tokyo, Japan. June 4, 2018
IN2FAB Technology has extended its partnership with Tokyo Nano Farm of Tokyo, Japan to include IN2FAB’s analog and mixed signal design migration services in addition to the support of IN2FAB’s schematic and test bench migration software tools. This will bring additional benefits to companies in the Japanese region and help to support customers who wish to move their silicon IP to a new process or foundry.
Japan has a long tradition in semiconductor design and has built a huge library of circuits and silicon intellectual property (IP) over many years. Much of this is tied to older processing technology, particularly with integrated device manufacturers, which can now be moved to new processes or external manufacturers in a very short time using IN2FAB’s design migration systems.
In addition to supporting IN2FAB’s schematic migration tools for customer use, Tokyo Nano Farm will now help customers who wish to use IN2FAB’s design service group to migrate the schematic and layout for IP and full chips to new processes. This will deliver complete circuits migrated to new manufacturing technology in a fraction of the time taken for redesign.
“We are very happy to be able to extend our relationship with Tokyo Nano Farm and help support our customers in Japan”, said Timothy Regan, President of IN2FAB. “Tokyo Nano Farm’s strong knowledge of the customers’ needs along with their many years of experience in the semiconductor industry ensures that we can help more companies move their silicon IP from one manufacturing process to another.
Regan also sees this program helping IP vendors around the world engage with the Japanese market. “Analog and mixed signal IP vendors have many products for foundries that provide contract manufacturing services but there is almost no external IP available for use with Japanese IDM companies. IN2FAB can also move external IP to match the requirements of an independent Japanese manufacturer, opening up new opportunities for IP vendors in markets that they have not been able to reach.
“We are very excited to promote IN2FAB’s unique technology in Japan”, said Hidemi Yokokawa of Tokyo Nano Farm. “We know most of Japanese semiconductor makers have in-house developed chips which could be reused by using IN2FAB solutions.” Yokokawa also highlighted the new opportunity for external IP vendors to bring their products to Japanese corporations. “IP vendors often struggle to bring their products to Japan as many Japanese companies have their own manufacturing tools and rules. We can now help bring IP to Japan by migrating it to Japanese standards as well as helping to move Japanese products to new foundries. TokyoNanoFarm’s mission is to become a focal point among tool provider, IP provider, and design house for our Japanese clients."
IN2FAB opens new UK Design Center

Northampton, United Kingdom. March 15, 2018
New development centre will increase support for FinFET and advanced silicon technology.
IN2FAB Technology has announced the opening of its new facility in the UK for the continued development of migration tools for advanced processes including FinFET technology. The centre will also support IN2FAB’s existing migration software that translates schematic, test bench and layout data to move circuits between foundries and processes.
Advanced processes are placing new demands on designers and tools and design rule complexity has risen dramatically. IN2FAB’s PDK based migration technology ensures that circuits are using foundry generated components throughout the circuit while preserving the structure and integrity of the original design.
“Advanced circuit technology is putting a lot more pressure on SoC producers and IP companies”, said IN2FAB President Timothy Regan. “Design cycles for these advanced processes are increasing so taking an existing circuit and translating it to a new foundry or process is increasingly attractive. Our new technology centre will accelerate the development of our most advanced migration tools to deliver a full FinFET migration capability to the market”.
The new location will also be the new home for IN2FAB’s design migration centre that moves IP as a service for customers worldwide. The new advanced design tools will further enhance this centre’s capabilities and provide extended design processing capability. “The amount of FinFET IP is growing rapidly and companies need to offer their products across as broad of a range of processes and foundries as possible”, added Regan. “Design migration allows them to take advantage of new licensing opportunities without the time and expense of a full redesign cycle”
